Suitable for most free-arm and over-lock sewing machines, this rugged carrying case keeps a sewing machine dust-free and protected from accidental damage when it’s not in use. The case is made of lightweight but impact-resistant plastic. Metal snaps securely lock the bottom to the top so you can lift the case with its comfortable, built-in handle without worrying about the case falling open. Not including the handle, the case measures 17-1/2 inches wide, 14 inches high, and 9-1/2 inches deep.–Fred Brackcustomer ‘s review[Case works for me)I’m quite happy with this case, after owning it for a few months I can now say it is holding up with use, and the Seller I bought it from was the best! I would buy again on both counts. It is storage for a Singer Commercial C-590 with room to spare.[Singer 611 Universal Carrying Case)I am really enjoying this carrying case. It is just the right size for my machine and I can fit a few extra things in there as well. It seems sturdy, but it is light and has an air tight type fit to keep dust out of my new sewing machine. It is exactly what I needed and expected.[Carrying for Barb)I found this case to be very good, the reason it didn’t get a 5 star because it did not have separate compartments for machine and foot pedal. other than that a very nice product.Highest Valuable goods

When Isaac Singer invented his first sewing machine in 1850, little did he foresee the range of home machines available today. An embroiderer’s dream, the electronic Singer Futura employs the user’s personal computer to transmit dozens of embroidery designs from the internet, a CD, or a floppy disk onto a range of fabrics. A step-by-step tutorial gets the user started, and additional online customer support is also available.
Personal computer requirements for the Futura are as follows: Windows operating system 98, NT, 2000, ME, or XP; 64 MB RAM; CD-ROM drive; at least 500 MB (more is recommended) of available hard disk space; color standard VGA adapter; and a Microsoft compatible mouse. The machine features 80 stitch functions, a built-in needle threader, two styles of one-step buttonholes, programmable up/down needle for precision pivoting at corners and curves, drop-feed for freehand stippling and button sewing, and extra piercing power for heavyweight fabrics. The keypad on the front of the machine allows easy one-touch pattern selection and mirror-imaging of designs. Included with the Futura are two embroidery hoops: large (4-1/2 by 6-3/4 inches) and small (3-1/8 by 4-3/4 inches); and a bonus embroidery package featuring 60 built-in designs, including 2 fonts, plus another 60 bonus designs. Singer covers the sewing machine with a limited 25-year warranty.–Ann Bieri
From the Manufacturer
Singer is taking an innovative leap in sewing technology with the Futura sewing and embroidery machine. It is the first sewing and embroidery machine that uses a personal computer to power the embroidery features. Futura offers the best features of electronic sewing machines and embroidery machines at a fraction of the cost. Traditionally, higher priced sewing and embroidery machines have the embroidery software built in. The Futura’s embroidery features are powered by software installed on a personal computer (PC), which greatly reduces the cost.
Compared to other sewing and embroidery machines with similar features, the Future is a tremendous value, offering great features for significantly less money. It’s extremely user-friendly and the design options are limitless. It can all be done with the simple click of a mouse. The electronic sewing machine features 80 stitch functions. Other features include one-touch pattern selection and a built in needle threader. It also has two styles of one-step buttonholes to create the perfect buttonhole each time.
Getting Started is Easier than Ever
Futura can work alone as an electronic sewing machine but easily transforms into an embroidery machine via a USB cable connection to a PC. The software included is Windows compatible for versions 98 and up. The package includes a tutorial and singer also provides a consumer support website. This includes everything you will need to take you through your embroidery project. Even if you have never embroidered, no problem. The built-in “How-To” tutorial is like having an instructor right there with you.
Click on what you need in the How To and step-by-step information appears.
The tutorial includes illustrations, clear color photos, and written instructions. The software includes 60 built-in designs plus another 60 bonus designs on a CD. There are two styles of included fonts to cover your lettering needs. Another unique feature of the Futura is the ability to use embroidery designs available on hundreds of internet sites or from embroidery design collections on CD or floppy disk. The Futura can use all popular home and commercial embroidery formats. You can download designs off the Internet, or you can use designs off a CD or floppy disk collection. Also, the Singer Sewing Company offers free monthly designs on their website, www.singerco.com. Once you select a design, you can easily display the number of colors in the design and the sequence in which they will stitch out. You can also change a color if you want.
The Futura is compatible with all embroidery formats.
The Futura displays the number of colors and the stitching sequence.
Before stitching out the design, you may want to view what it looks like with actual stitches. This is made possible with a “click” of your mouse on view and then on realistic view. Because the computer operates the embroidery unit of the machine, all that is required to send a design to the machine is a “click” on file and then a simple “click” on “Transmit to Futura machine.” It’s that easy. In addition, the Futura software includes a listing of all the most popular embroidery thread companies. Simply “click” on the manufacturer of your choice. To change your color, “click” on “List Color”. The Futura includes each manufacturers color chart; making it easy for you to choose the precise color you want. You can then visit your favorite sewing supply store and ask for the thread by color number.
The Futura lists the most popular thread companies.
Included manufacturer color charts make it easy to pick the colors.
Embroidery Hardware
The embroidery hardware includes a large (4-1/2 by 6-3/4 inch) and small (3-1/8 by 4-3/4 inch) hoop, which is ideal for design placement and hard-to-reach areas of garments. Other included accessories are a darning and embroidery foot, 3 bobbins, embroidery thread , spool covers, small trimming scissors, embroidery connector cap, handy vinyl accessory storage bag. Futura can handle all of the practical and creative needs of the sewer or crafter at any skill level. It is an example of singer’s dedication to bringing innovative products to consumers at an affordable price.
Representing the latest in innovative embroidery technology, the new Futura joins a family of sewing machines, accessories and notions that have made Singer one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of consumer sewing machines and a name that stands for quality. customer ‘s review[3000+ owners can’t be wrong.)The main difference between all the folks who had problems with this machine and the 3000+ folks that belong to the futuraembroidery group on Yahoo is joining that group. I knew nothing about embroidery but when I saw the price of the Singer Futura I thought that I would try it. I had done hand embroidery and machine sewing but machine embroidery is a totally different skill. Add the challenge of installing and running the software and you definitely need some hand holding. The futuraembroidery group was exactly what I needed to help get me started and now I am confident that I can embroider just about anything. Buy a Futura, find that group and I guarantee you’ll be embroidering all your Christmas gifts in no time.[A technical explanation of why you don’t want this)My wife bought one of the CE-100s and after she couldn’t get it running she turned it over to me, her resident tech-head with a PhD in computer science, to get the thing running. In the end it never ran at all.My conclusion is that a pack of wolves could write better software and manuals. First you will find that the manual and install card give exactly opposite instructions on the order in which to plug in the USB and install the software (a critical detail for testy installs). After multiple installs using multiple clean machines I determined the correct order and was able to get the USB recognized. I visited a half-dozen forums and used every trick out there.Ultimately it was all for nothing. The machine never did anything but light up and blink red all over – indicating error. The manual has a helpful list of error codes and tells you what to do based on the error code displayed.Big problem: there is no error display! You will never know what error the machine thinks it has!I tried methodically restarting, refreshing, and then undergoing the corrective actions for every possible error on the list – all to absolutely no effect. Ultimately I believe the problem is probably an internal mechanical one. I think the mix of “1” ratings with normal ratings is the luck of the draw whether you get a working machine or not, and the odds look to be below 50%.[Learning curve is pretty steep, but once you get it, YOU GET IT!)I admit to a little bit of frustration when I first got going on this machine. But patience paid off and now I LOVE it. Not only does it perform beautifully as a sewing machine, but it also embroiders like a pro. Really. I still have lot to learn, but I hate to see this machine being dissed by so many people. It is a Greta machine; just take your time and RTFM! (Read the freaking manual).Highest Valuable goods

It indicates that the set contains two pairs of the scissors and a Fuzz remover. The package arrived with only one pair of scissors and no fuzz remover. Beware of the false advertising.[good product)I would give this product 5 stars except for the fact that once you’ve used the extra blades that come with the scissors, its impossible to find any more. The store where I bought them no longer sells them. So now I’m stuck with dull blades that won’t cut anything.[Purchase AC adapter here)I found by doing a google search a site www.amerimark.com. Equipped with a differential feed to permit the gathering of fabrics for creating ruffles, for example, and for sewing knits without them stretching, this two-needle machine sews six kinds of stitches with three or four threads and permits quick, easy stitching, trimming, and overcasting in a single operation. It provides convenience, speed (up to 1,300 stitches per minute), and the reliability of the Singer name. Available stitch functions include the three-thread overlock; the three-thread, wrapped-edge overlock; the four-thread mock-safety stitch; flatlock; blind hem; and rolled hem. Conversion from normal overedging to rolled hemming can be accomplished without changing the throat plate.
Color-coded threading, adjustable stitch width (ranging from 3 to 6.7 mm), adjustable stitch length (from 2 to 4 mm), a stitch-length control dial, adjustable differential feed, presser-foot adjustment, and tension-adjustment dials for all four threads offer exceptional flexibility and control. Simply removing the cloth plate converts the machine for free-arm work. Singer’s illustrated, step-by-step instruction booklet that accompanies the machine is invaluable. The machine comes with a 25-year warranty against defects on the sewing machine head; a five-year warranty on electrical and electronic components; and a one-year warranty against defects on parts and adjustments.–Fred Brackcustomer ‘s review[sew-sew machine)Bought from WalMart in 2005 and have used it a lot. Just replaced with Brother 1034D which is quieter and easier to thread. Singer vibrates a lot and walks all over the place even with suction cups and I use a rubber sink mat under it. I do use regular sewing machine needles with it and have not had a problem. The tension is extremely difficult to adjust and it won’t hold. Even if it does hold, it will sew differently from one session to the next. That has frustrated me a great deal – plus having to re-thread frequently. But, it has held up through many hours or sewing.[very poor design)I have been using a similar priced brother serger for years and when it broke I couldnt find it in my town so i purchased this singer machine.I am returning it tomorrow.i am rather good at threading sergers and have used many other models besides my own with no dificulties (its still a pain though). but this machine makes it as dificult as possible.the #1 threads go through these loops that they seem to come out of pretty easily while the machine is in use.the #3 thread that go through the needles could not be harder to thread. the machine has an arm that sticks out just to the right of the needles (it is for the cutting blade i believe) which makes it nearly impossible to thread with your right hand. and even while threading with your left the arm blocks most of your view. making this very dificult.the tension dials already began slipping from the factory setting after no more then 10 min of use and had to constently be adjusted to keep them at the right tension.i did like how the threading instructions were very well marked on the machine (although a very important part for thread #2 was left off the drawing which makes it inoperable without this one instruction which you do find in the manual). i also liked how the tension was clearly marked on the machine. but after 10 min of use those settings were already wrong.the machine itself does not feel as quality as the similar Brother 1034D model. at first i thought the threading looked easier but after threading it several times it in fact is much more time consumming and much more dificult. the machine also sergers at a slightly slower pace.i am very disapointed with this machine and will be returning it and ordering the Brother 1034D instead. that seems to me to be the best machine for the cost (although once the coil inside stretches it is not repairable (says the guy at the repair shop). although i had the same machine for 4 years and i used it on a daily basis for my evening business. so it got lots of use. after the 1st year i had to baby the tension but it still worked!).[Excellent to work with)I love my Serger. I am still getting use to it but from what I have seen so far it has been one of my best purchases yet.Highest Valuable goods

Created by a company renowned for its durable home machines, this lightweight vacuum is suitable for tasks from floor to ceiling. With 650 watts of power, the machine uses cyclonic airflow and bagless dirt collection, resulting in longer-lasting, more powerful suction than similar bagged models. The floor nozzle is safe on bare floors as well as carpets, and the 10-1/2-inch cleaning path offers good coverage for a stick vacuum. For above-floor tasks and quick pickups, the Lazer converts to a handheld vacuum with a simple step. Dual extension wands, a crevice tool, and a brush attachment expand the vacuum’s uses and help you tackle high areas, tight spots, and delicate surfaces. In any of its jobs, the machine is easy to monitor, thanks to a transparent front on the dust cup. Fitted with a 26-foot power cord and a convenient collapsible handle, the vacuum weighs less than eight pounds and has a snappy red and black housing.–Emily Bedardcustomer ‘s review[Useless, total ripoff!)At best, this is a mediocre vacuum when it has a fresh filter. However the filter clogs constantly. I have to clean it twice with an unused paint brush to vacuum my small one bedroom apartment (and I don’t even have pets!). I’ve been trying to order replacement filters from anyone, anywhere in vain. Igia.com appears to be the only place you can order replacement filters. I try to place an order online and it won’t go through because they say there’s something wrong with the expiration date on my card (I’ve been using my card all along, there’s nothing wrong with it). I emailed them but they don’t email back barring a useless automated reply. I called their 1-800 number repeatedly and after being left on hold for 10 mins, it disconnects. So now I’m stuck with this useless vacuum cleaner that was never great to begin with. In addition, the folks I ordered from (Lazer Storm, 4540 Worth St, Los Angeles, CA 9006; SingerLazer.com) said I’d receive a free steamer with my vacuum. It never came. I emailed them and received no reply. Since then, their URL address is no longer online and their 1-800 numbers is now some singles line. DO NOT BUY THIS USELESS PIECE OF GARBAGE! I’ve been taken and so will you if you buy it![DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!)Where shall I begin(so many problems)…? Negative 10 stars rating. I was fortunate enough to cancel my order in time for a refund. They sent me the vacuum anyway for free! This shouldn’t be called a vacuum. Sucker works for me. It does suck, and I do not know how they vacuumed all those things in the commercial, because it doesn’t pick up hardly anything for me ( unless I have the tube attached) If you switch from upright to dustbuster while the vac is running, a cloud of dust shoots out the side. It does not work on carpets or hard floors!!! And, when I shut it off, dirt and anything larger that a pea falls out of the tube, back on the floor. Even the dust buster does not have much suction. Most the complaints in the other reviews I read before submitting this one are complaints of mine as well!I suggest a Kirby. The demo man who introduced us to Kirby placed a plate across the vacuum intake (which blocked all the suction and does not hurt the vac)and proceeded to lift the vacuum ( 20 lbs.) off the ground, holding only by the raw suction. We were sold with that. I also have a Dison which is good but nothing compared to the suction and versatility of the 15+ attachments that comes with the Kirby (including a shampooer). We also haggled with the kirby dealer and got them down to $1000 which seems like alot, but is worth every penny. It actually vacuums anthing that comes near the entry. Better than any Electrolux I’ve ever had as well. Bottom line, Don’t buy the Singer or you’ll regret it for sure.[Great Product–No customer service)This product is distributed by Igia (Tactica associate.) Although I love the product, and with correct care it performs just as advertised, I found absolutely NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT from these people. For that reason, I cannot recommend this product. The contact info on the box is useless! I have seen the same offer under other names such as Windstorm, but they all seem to be backed (more correctly, NOT backed) by the Igia/Tactica people. If you want a great product with no support, it is fine, but BUYER BEWARE.

She used it for a few times and it ended up breaking…unfortunately, when it broke, it was after the warranty was already expired. The repair shop wanted over $100.00 to fix it, so not even worth it. I’d buy something a bit higher up…[Don’t Waste Your Money)I’ve had this less than a year and it has been nothing but trouble. It jams up constantly, breaks thread and needles. Then to discover that the root cause of the problems is a PLASTIC gear in the mechanism. – Kitchen –<> price:$260.00 Singer This item is currently not available.customer ‘s review[132Q leaves a LOT to be desired in quality)I have owned a couple of sewing machines now, and my mother always had Singer machines. I was pleased when I found this one for a very reasonable price, as I wanted to learn to quilt (the “Q” is for quilting on this model). I used it a grand total of four times before it broke. Now, it does a vrey nice job, WHEN it works! I was making pillows when it broke – I had stitched up 2 items, and was on my third. I’d finished the other seams, and was going back over the last seam when it caught and stopped running. Used to bobbins getting linty, I took that apart and blew out any fuzz, and tried the seam again. This time, it caught and I heard a snap. Now the entire machine was frozen up. I couldn’t get it to budge, and neither could my husband. He had taken the machine to make sure all the parts were properly greased (they were – after all, it was new). I took the entire bobbin shaft out and made sure there wasn’t thread caught where I couldn’t see it right away – it was fine.We took it to a sewing machine repair shop. Apparently, there is a plastic (yes, PLASTIC) gear that runs the bobbin gear, and it was stripped out. The thing is, they couldn’t find a replacement part for it. We finally took our machine back home, unfixed. So, a grand total of maybe four uses from it before it stopped working. Those are the most expensive pillows I ever made! So, save yourself the headaches, and either get a different model, or perhaps consider a different brand, if this is the direction Singer has decided to head – with inexpensive low-quality parts in their machines!Of course, when I wrote to Singer, they gave me a canned reply, stating that if it was within the 90-day warranty (and it wasn’t – I’d had it for a few months before I needed to sew anything), then they could help. Otherwise, take it to a repair shop. Gee thanks. This will be my last Singer. Neither the company nor the customer service is what it apparently USED to be.[132Q leaves a LOT to be desired in quality)I have owned a couple of sewing machines now, and my mother always had Singer machines. – Kitchen –<> price:$410.00 Singer This item is currently not available.customer ‘s review[Mr&Mrs Wilkes)My wife says that she loves sewing on this sewing machine and has been sewing for over 50 years. It is easy to thread, easy to use. In short she is very happy with it. This was our first purchase over Amazon.com and the price was right, delivery was good and the product is all it was supposed to be. This will not be our only purchase from Amazon.com. We are already looking at some other items we could use.[Waste of Time)This “reconditioned” sewing machine is a real waste of good time. I ordered two of them; each was defective. The first one had a bent arm onto which the accessory case slid. The second simply did not sew properly. When you stop to think about it, how can there be so many “reconditioned” machines if they are a good product in the first place? Another thing that is curious is that the machine comes with a piece of cloth upon which there are a variety of stitches as if to show you that they have tested the machine before shipment. The two machines I got had strangely identical sample pieces of cloth. I think they have a person working night and day on a functioning machine turning out these samples to include with each “reconditioned” sewing machine. Spend a little money, do yourself a favor and get a sewing machine with a good reputation.[Updating)First new machine in over 30 years and the many new features are wonderful! Still find it faster to thread the needle than use the needle threader but maybe as my eyes age I will appreciate it more. I am primarily a quilter and don’t use many of the stitches but what I do use is so EASY. I especially enjoy the light weight of the machine. My old one was almost 40 pounds so didn’t come out often enough.

This is not your mother’s Singer.)Buyer beware. This is not your mother’s Singer. They sold it off years ago and have used the name to sell cheap and poor designed sewing machines.
Not happy with at all. I have used it 4 times in 1 year, very light repair stuff. Now it is totally unusable I have tried to contact Singer many times by email and they tell me to call between the hours or 9 and 5 Monday through Friday while at the machine. This is very hard to do when you work for a living. A local repair shop said it is the poor design of the bobin assembly and needs to be replaced, but doesn’t recommend it because the replacement is just as badly designed.
And like many of the other reviews a Singer repair shop is not close at all.[twice to the shop in 6 months – not happy)We bought this sewing machine in March and my wife is learning to sew. We do not use the machine very often so it is very disappointing that we are now on our second visit to the shop. The first one happened just within the 90 day warranty, and we were able to send to official center 60 miles away. That problem was clearly a manufacturing defect where a part came loose inside. This second problem is the actual sewing is now not correct. Appears to be a tension problem, but everything appears ok. At this point, we are on the edge of buying a new machine that is more robust. I will wait and see what the shop says tomorrow. Could cost us more to fix it than it’s worth. Timing is terrible, as my wife started a class two days ago. The reliability of this product is unacceptable. Very unhappy. (Are all the new machines plastic now? Miss the old metal units and metal bobbins).
